Team Bath Resign from the Blue Square South

Blue Square LogoTeam Bath is to withdraw from the Conference South at the end of the season, after being told that the club is barred from achieving any further promotions. Team Bath is a rather unique football team in that whilst playing for the club; the players also follow a course of study at the University of Bath.

The club has also had to withdraw from the FA Cup, and although currently flying high in 10th position in the Blue Square South, sadly the team will not be competing in the league next season, which will mean (one would assume) that only two teams will be relegated from the division this season.

It has always been Team Bath’s ambition to ultimately reach the Football League; the Conference has removed its ability to progress though, and also forced the club to resign from England’s proudest domestic cup competition.

The team will see out the season and play all of its final five remaining fixtures, after that though; there’ll be no more Blue Square South football for Team Bath, and after just one season in the second highest division in the non-league pyramid, we’re sadly having to say goodbye to Team Bath.

Team Bath experienced five promotions in nine seasons to get where it is today, and it’s terrible that the Conference will not allow the club any further promotions; the decision has now been made though, and we’ve therefore lost a very promising football team from the Blue Square South.
