Cristiano Ronaldo Dismisses the Rumours Linking Him With a £75 Million Move to Real Madrid
The newspapers were suggesting at the weekend that a deal had been agreed with Real Madrid, and that Cristiano Ronaldo would be off in the summer for a fee of £75 million.
Ronaldo laughed off the rumours today, and when asked by journalists if there was any truth to the claims, he said with a confident smile on his face that “It’s always this question”, and continued by stating that “I’m happy at this club. I think that this is the right club for me”.
Ronaldo has 15 Premier League goals for the season so far, and 20 for the club in all competitions. He’s the joint leading goal scorer in the league along with Nicolas Anelka, and has been absolutely integral to Manchester United’s success in the last couple of seasons. Transfer talk about big players leaving helps sell papers, and stories like this are always likely to emerge in the papers that Ronaldo is leaving Old Trafford; it seems that the Portuguese superstar is happy to remain in Manchester though, and will no doubt continue to play for Manchester United for many years to come.
Manchester United would be foolish really to get rid of Cristiano Ronaldo, and even with £75 million the club would unlikely be able to replace such an important player. Ronaldo seems to be enjoying his football right now, is beginning to hit top form, and after another two goals at the weekend; it’s likely that he’ll be hitting many more for Manchester United before the season’s out.
Cristiano Ronaldo is an absolute world class player, and his future looks to be at Manchester United.
