Barry Ferguson and Allan McGregor Will Never Play for Scotland Again

Published by richleigh under Soccer News Edit This

SPLBarry Ferguson and Allan McGregor have both been banned from international football for life by the Scottish FA, and never again will they ever be appearing for Scotland.

The decision comes after they sat on the bench making V-signs when they were left out of the action in Wednesday’s win over Iceland. They were left on the bench as punishment for a drinking session they had after losing to the Netherlands; whilst they did have just a minor punishment of missing a game though, they now have the far more serious punishment that they’ll never again be able to appear for their country.

Ferguson has the added punishment that his Rangers captaincy has been taken away from him, and a foolish and rather pointless act of dissent has now cost him dearly for both club and country.

Both players have been suspended by Rangers for two weeks without pay, and Rangers will now have to do without two important first team players as they chase Glasgow rivals Celtic for the title.
