Anelka is Out For Three Weeks With a Toe Injury
French footballer Nicolas Anelka is to spend three weeks on the sidelines as a result of a toe injury that he’s picked up. He’s been assessed by the medics of the French national football team, and due to his injury will therefore not be competing in either of France’s two upcoming games against Lithuania.
France will play an away tie on March 28th, and will then once again compete against Lithuania on April 1st. France is currently third in Group 7 and these are incredibly important fixtures; Lithuania is second right now, and whilst wins would see France rise up the group, defeats would put French World Cup qualification hopes in jeopardy.
These are two very important games for France; Anelka will not be available though, and he’ll not be having a say in France’s progression in Group 7, at least not for the next two games, anyway.
