Carlo Cudicini Signs For Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur has completed the signing of Carlo Cudicini on a free transfer from Chelsea. The 35 year-old Italian goalkeeper will now be challenging Heurelho Gomes for a place in the Tottenham first team, and should Gomes begin to falter as he did earlier on in the season; Carlo Cudicini will no doubt be taking his place in the team.
Harry Redknapp has spoken of his wish to sign a new goalkeeper for some time now, and Carlo Cudicini it seems is now his man.
Carlo Cudicini had been with Chelsea since 1999, but after ten years with the club which saw him make 141 appearances in the Premier League with Chelsea; Cudicini is now after a new challenge, and will now be hoping to impress Harry Redknapp in training, and push £7 million summer signing Gomes to the bench.
Cudicini is a very good signing for Tottenham, and the fact that he’s been picked up for free merely serves to make the deal all the more sweeter. A good shot stopper; Carlo Cudicini has had great experience with Chelsea, and throughout the years has always shown himself to be an absolutely excellent goalkeeper.
Carlo Cudicini will surely soon be involving himself in first team action for Tottenham Hotspur.
