Marlon King Joins Middlesbrough on Loan

Published by richleigh at 11:03 pm under English Premier League, Transfer News Edit This

Marlon KingWigan striker Marlon King has cut short his season-long loan with Hull City in order to move to Middlesbrough. Marlon King will therefore be spending the next six months with Boro, Middlesbrough’s Mido meanwhile is expected to move on loan the other way to Wigan.

Marlon King has scored 5 goals in 22 appearances since joining Hull City, and Gareth Southgate will surely be hoping that the player can score a few goals for Middlesbrough also. Middlesbrough is currently 18th in the league, and this therefore presently puts the club in the relegation zone. Change needs to take place in order to move the club up the league, and Southgate will be hoping that King’s presence in the squad results in a positive effect on performances.

Middlesbrough now becomes Marlon King’s eighth professional club in a career which began with Barnet back in 1998. King has also been a member of the Jamaican national team since 2004 now, scoring 10 goals in 18 caps for his country.

Marlon King could turn out to be a shrewd loan signing for Gareth Southgate; the next six months will be the judge of that, and all at the club will now be hoping that the player can put in some good performances for Middlesbrough, and help the club to survive in the Premier League this season.

Gareth Southgate currently has it tough right now, and for the next six months at least, Marlon King is now a Middlesbrough player.

So is this another player staying out loan? Great. We have pay a further 300,000 per week to a player that’s not even playing for us. Brill.
