David BeckhamDavid Beckham has been assigned the number 32 shirt at AC Milan. It had been previously speculated that Beckham would wear the number 75, the year of his birth; it has now been revealed however that David Beckham’s shirt number is to be 32.

Beckham has already been posing for the press, and the BBC has seven new pictures of David Beckham available, including ones of him in his new AC Milan shirt.

There has been much speculation of late as to whether or not the loan move could be made a permanent deal. LA Galaxy insists that Beckham will be back for the start of the 2009 Major League Soccer Season, others believe however that if Beckham performs well in Milan then Carlo Ancelotti will make a move to sign the England international and bring the soccer celebrity to the San Siro on a permanent basis.

One thing is for certain regarding David Beckham’s move to Milan; from January 7th he’ll be available for selection at San Siro. Beckham will be available to play in AC Milan’s last 32 UEFA Cup games against Werder Bremen, and it’s thought that Beckham’s presence in the team will provide a huge lift for Milan which should see them safely through to the last 16.

So David Beckham is the new number 32 for AC Milan; his number has been confirmed, and come January David Beckham will be an AC Milan player.

Here is a David Beckham press conference video in which he talks about his move to Milan, how he hopes to benefit the team in his time at the San Siro, and how excited he is to play alongside such footballing greats as Ronaldinho and Kaka:
