Lee Clark the new Huddersfield Town Manager

Published by richleigh at 9:54 pm under English League One, Soccer News Edit This

Former Norwich assistant Lee Clark has been named the new manager of League One’s Huddersfield Town. He’d been assistant at Norwich since November 2007, and it would seem that he was just what the Huddersfield Town staff were looking for.

Clark’s playing career ended in 2007 with Newcastle United, and whilst with Newcastle he also became the reserve team coach 2006. Lee Clark has quickly risen from player to manager, and Huddersfield should be an excellent place for Lee to learn his trade. He’s still got a lot to learn, Huddersfield have obviously seen something in him that they like however, and as such he’s therefore taken over from caretaker manager Gerry Murphy who had been managing the team since Stan Ternent left on November 4th.

Huddersfield will now travel to Southend on Saturday in a big game that will see them rise above The Shrimpers with a win. Huddersfield Town is only 9 points off the play-offs at current, and if Clark can do his job well, then promotion could be on the cards for the club this season.

Huddersfield have been stuck in League One now since the 2004/05 season, fans will want to see the club move back up the league structure, and all will now be hoping that Lee Clark is the man to make it happen for Huddersfield.

Good luck to Lee Clark and his Huddersfield Town team, and here’s to hoping that the club reaches the play-offs this season and once more makes a return to the second tier of English football.
