Liverpool Draw with West Ham

Published by richleigh at 8:25 pm under English Premier League, Soccer News Edit This

Liverpool drew 0-0 with West Ham this evening at Anfield, taking the team to the very top of the Premier League table, one point ahead of Chelsea. It wasn’t a glittering display of footballing expertise from Liverpool, they got a point from the game however and now once more lead the league.

Liverpool must now travel to Blackburn on Saturday, Chelsea meanwhile will take the trip to Bolton. Liverpool require a win if they’re to keep their place at the top of the league, and given that Blackburn currently sit second bottom; Liverpool should have little trouble overcoming the struggling side.

It’s very tight at the top right now, Liverpool may be top for the time being, but they’ll have to play a lot better than they did this evening if things are to remain that way. Chelsea and Manchester United are two teams hungry for titles, and Liverpool have a long way to go yet before being crowned Premier League champions for the 2008/09 season.
