Ronaldo to Miss Villarreal Match?

Published by richleigh at 9:19 pm under Champions League, Soccer News Edit This

Cristiano Ronaldo is a doubt for Manchester United’s Tuesday trip to Villarreal. The goal scoring midfield man sustained a leg injury during Saturday’s game against Aston Villa and it now looks as though he’s going to miss out on this important Champions League match-up.

With Dimitar Berbatov also out injured and Carlos Tevez in poor form; attacking options are slim for United at current, and despite a strong spell the other month, Wayne Rooney is also now not in goal scoring form.

Manchester United will this season be hoping to once more clinch the Premier League title and will look to get as far as possible in the Champions League, their attacking threat is currently limited however and with so many key players out of action/out of form; you struggle to see how United can this season realistically come anywhere close to repeating what they did last year. It’s going to be tough for Manchester United this season, they’re already eight points behind the league leaders, and Ronaldo’s latest injury will really be worrying United right now.

Cristiano Ronaldo played a key role in United’s success last season, whenever injured he’s sorely missed, and Alex Ferguson will now just be hoping that Ronaldo can return to the team as soon as possible and that his leg injury isn’t too serious. Fingers crossed for Alex Ferguson and his Manchester United side, Ronaldo is an excellent player, and when fully fit he’s always a definite starter in the Man United first team and a constant thorn in the side of the opposition.
