Tim Sherwood, who spent four years at Tottenham Hotspur between the years 0f 1999 and 2003, is to return to the club as a part of the coaching staff. Sherwood will take up a part-time position and is the latest to have been brought into the club by new Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp.
Redknapp is making some serious changes to the Spurs backroom staff at the moment; the club is currently bottom of the league and he’s therefore doing all he can in order to turn it all around for Tottenham. Tottenham should really be a side in the top 6, it’s just not happening for the club right now though and for fans of the team; 20th position just isn’t good enough.
Sherwood made nearly 100 appearances for Spurs during his time at White Hart Lane; he was loyal and incredibly devoted to the club, and this is just the kind of person that Harry Redknapp wants on his coaching staff. Confidence is currently shot at Tottenham, Redknapp is therefore bringing in Tottenham players of the past in order to restore some pride and fight to his struggling side.
A 4-4 fight back draw sealed away at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium on Wednesday 29th October could be the start of the Tottenham escape. Tottenham found themselves 4-2 down after Van Persie scored for Arsenal in the 68th minute; a late double with goals from Jermaine Jenas and Aaron Lennon rescued a point for Tottenham however, Harry Redknapp’s astute substitutions having paid off and really sparked the side into action. Tottenham showed a lot of passion in that game, something that has been lacking in the Tottenham side in recent weeks. It looks as though Redknapp’s changes are starting to take effect already, and with former players currently ranking highly on Harry Redknapp’s coaching staff wish list; Tim Sherwood is now the latest to have come back to White Hart Lane and there are likely to be many more returning yet.

So David Beckham is heading for Italy on January 7th 2009 and will join A.C. Milan on loan. Beckham will be playing alongside the likes of Ronaldinho, Kaka, and Shevchenko; some real world class players, and Beckham will not look at all out of place in the Milan starting eleven.
Beckham insists that he’ll be returning to LA Galaxy for the start of the 2009 Major League Soccer Season in March, if it goes well for him in Italy though then there’s no telling as to where his future may lie.
David Beckham has long been a huge sporting celebrity superstar; both on and off the field he’s always been quite the fans favourite, and there’s definitely no denying that the football is of a far higher standard in Italy than it is in the USA. A permanent deal in Italy could be Beckham’s perfect opportunity for sustaining a place in the England national football team; he still insists it’s his wish to return to LA Galaxy in March however, so for the time being it would seem that David Beckham’s footballing future lies in America.
A few times David Beckham has been linked with a potential move back to the English Premier League; it would seem that Beckham would only return to England to play for Manchester United though, so Alex Ferguson would be the only man able to persuade Beckham to return.
England manager Fabio Capello has helped Beckham to secure the Milan move, stating that the only way for Beckham to keep his place in the national side would be to continue playing the professional game throughout the Major League Soccer close season. The 2008 Major Soccer League season is set to end on November 23rd, Beckham’s move to Milan will make sure he stays fit and keeps a good shape whilst there are no competitive LA Galaxy games to be played.
David Beckham still has a future in the English national football team, but had he not have secured this move to Italy then Capello had stated that Beckham would have equalled Bobby Moore’s caps record of 108 with the friendly game against Germany, but never would have surpassed it.
Capello has stated that there’s a possibility Beckham will play the whole 90 minutes of the friendly international game against Germany on November 19th 2008. After that there’s just no telling where David Beckham’s international future currently lies, but with England’s World Cup European Qualifying campaign starting again in March 2009; it now looks as though David Beckham should be figuring in Fabio Capello’s future South Africa 2010 FIFA World Cup Qualifying plans.

On October 25th 2008 Tony Adams was named the new caretaker manager of Portsmouth alongside Joe Jordan. This came as the news that Harry Redknapp had moved to White Hart Lane to manage Tottenham hit. Portsmouth Football Club was paid £5 million for Tottenham’s poaching of Harry Redknapp, and straight away the Portsmouth caretaker managers were announced. Adams had been the assistant manager underneath Redknapp, and it seemed almost inevitable that sooner or later it would be announced that Tony Adams was officially the new manager of Portsmouth.
Yesterday (October 28th 2008) Tony Adams was indeed officially appointed the new full-time manager of Portsmouth Football Club. This will be Adams second job as a full-time football manager; his first chance to show his managerial credential came back in November 2003 when he was appointed the manager of at the time struggling League One side Wycombe Wanderers. Wycombe Wanderers was that season relegated, and although the team started the 2004/05 season well; Wycombe soon began to fall down the league leading to Tony Adams resignation in November 2004.
After the Wycombe job, Tony Adams was twice a football coach in the Netherlands before joining Portsmouth as assistant manager in June 2006. Having been at the club for over two years now assisting Harry Redknapp; he should find little difficulty in adjusting into his new role of full-time manager of the club. As a manager there’s a lot more responsibility than there is with being an assistant; the Portsmouth board obviously have full faith in the abilities of Tony Adams however and will be hoping for a long and successful future ahead with Tony Adams at the helm of the club.
With an away game at Liverpool, Tony Adams will face a tough first task in his first game as full-time Portsmouth manager; if he can get through this one though and move on positively from here, then this could be the start of something truly special for Tony Adams and his new Portsmouth team.

41 year old former footballing striker Les Ferdinand is reportedly keen to talk with Tottenham about becoming a new coach for the club. Ferdinand played for Tottenham between the years of 1997 and 2003, during his playing days he also played for Queens Park Rangers and Newcastle United amongst others.
New Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has shown an interest in bringing Ferdinand to the club’s coaching staff and it now seems quite likely that Les Ferdinand will soon be signing on as coach. Ferdinand’s playing career ended after the 2005/06 season which saw Watford promoted up to the Premier League; Ferdinand had failed to play a first team competitive game for the club and therefore saw it as the perfect time to retire from the playing game, just shy of his 40th birthday.
It is perceived by Harry Redknapp that Les Ferdinand would be the perfect addition to the coaching staff at White Hart Lane; he had a good history with the club as a player, and Redknapp is very keen to get the right staff in to Tottenham in an attempt to change the club’s fortunes. Tottenham currently sit dead bottom of the English Premier League with 5 points from 9 games and Harry Redknapp is now doing all he can to try and move the club on up the league.
Harry Redknapp has not been in charge of Tottenham for long, he’s already making quite a few changes there however and it looks as though Les Ferdinand could be the next to come join the former Portsmouth manager at White Hart Lane. If Les Ferdinand does make a return to Tottenham on the coaching staff when there’s no doubt whatsoever that he’ll be receiving a very warm welcome indeed.

With a 2-1 home win over West Brom tonight at St James Park, Newcastle have moved out of the bottom three and now sit 15th with 9 points from 10 games. With all other eighteen teams in the league playing tomorrow though there’s still a possibility that Newcastle will be back in the drop zone after tomorrow’s fixtures; a win has done Newcastle the world of good however and this result over West Brom was a much needed 3 points claimed against a team that is also likely to be fighting for its place in the league come the end of the season.
Wigan travel to Fulham tomorrow in a crunch relegation battle, Stoke meanwhile host Sunderland, and Bolton face Everton. Bottom team Tottenham will need to be in tip top form as they travel to the Emirates Stadium of Arsenal, and of the five teams currently below Newcastle; Tottenham is the only one that can’t catch them with a win.
A quarter of the way through the season and the Premier League table is already beginning to take shape; the only real major surprise at current is that Hull City are in third position whilst Manchester United are only fifth. Newcastle will undoubtedly face a tough season ahead, a win against West Brom is a big result for them however and one which will have done the sides confidence the world of good. Morale is still likely to be quite low Tyneside, it’ll surely have been lifted a little though and if Newcastle can progress from this with a positive result against Aston Villa at home next Monday then this could be the turning point in Newcastle’s season.
Aston Villa are currently flying high and sit fifth in the league, it’ll take a lot for Newcastle to defeat them and it’s not likely to be an easy game; two wins on the trot would be Newcastle’s best run all season though so it’s possible that Newcastle will come out fighting for all three points. This has been a very big win for Newcastle, West Brom have now lost three game in a row though and it’ll be interesting to see how they manage to pick themselves up from this.
There’ll be many happy faces in Newcastle tonight; it’ll be a long season yet though, and with 28 matches still left to play before the seasons out; the English Premier League could well once more be going right to the wire.
